Hi all. This is something I participate in every year with my kid and friends (my 3rd year of participation!). I would love to get more sister involved. It is a 5K walk/run to raise money for breast cancer…one of the most well-known fundraising walk/runs around. Check out the link and see if you are interested in participating. We can all register individually now and form a team later. If you register by Friday, you save $5.
Please feel free to pass along to your contacts. It’s a wonderful site to see pink Hijabs making this journey to help our fellow sisters in this wonderful event.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2009, Asuda-USA and Azizah Magazine is organizing their first Annual Essay Contest to celebrate the significant role and remarkable achievements of Muslim women in society.
All high school and college students are eligible to participate. The contest is being organized with the aim to increase a general awareness about the Muslim women’s ongoing contribution to the social, economic, political, scientific and global community. First place is 1000 USD and publication in Azizah magazine, Spring 2009.
It would be really appreciated if you help us to publicize this contest as widely as possible. If it could be sent to your mailing list via e-mail, included in your newsletter, or other ways to reach out to youth in the community.
Your cooperation will go a long way in making this contest a success.
Thanks for your attention and time. I am attaching a flyer for the contest, and the link to the announcement:

As salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu sisters and brothers.
Please refer to this urgent message from The Bishmillah Sadaqah Fund
The Bishmillah Sadaqah Fund strives hard to assist families without asking for donations however with the
recent demand & status of the economy we too are now relying on donations.
We have a sister who reverted to Islam nearly 5 years ago & Masha-Allah has been patiently working with her Wali to seek a suitable partner for marriage but it
hasn’t been the will of Allah at this point. The sister resides in the metro Atlanta daughter with her 6 year old daughter. Thier rent is only $600 per month
but due to rapid changes she has lost her business, vechile and possibly her home. She is also one of our biggest contributers so we are asking a small
donation request of $5, more or less will appreciated as well.
Donations may be sent to:
