ISB Youth Group

Go-Karting Trip
Come join the ISB Youth Group this Friday, June 5th as we take a trip to the Crofton Go Karting Course.
We will be leaving sharply at 6:30pm from ISB and will return in time for Isha prayers. The cost is $12.00 per participant and will include pizza.
We will be carpooling from ISB so please RSVP via email to youth@isb.org by Thursday or you will not be given a seat.
Youth under 16 are required to bring a signed parental consent form in order to join us, which can be found online at www.isb.org/youth
Also, inshallah the ISB Youth Group is also looking for drivers, those would like to volunteer please email us at youth AT isb.org

Relationship experts report that too many couples fail to ask each other critical questions before marrying. Here are a few key ones that couples should consider asking:
1) Have we discussed whether or not to have children, and if the answer is yes, who is going to be the primary care giver?
2) Do we have a clear idea of each other’s financial obligations and goals, and do our ideas about spending and saving mesh?
3) Have we discussed our expectations for how the household will be maintained, and are we in agreement on who will manage the chores?

Alhamdu lillah (Praise God), all Masjids in the world are open to all people. Muslims pray shoulder to shoulder with no regard to any national, ethnic, class or color differences. Islamic egalitarianism still gains respect from the untouchables of India to Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali in America. However, this dominant reality is sometimes marred by individual behavior, which is contrary to the ideals of Islam.
Some Muslims fall for the age-old trick of Satan and start playing the silly inferiority/superiority game. Some stereotype others and tolerate prejudice against other human beings, despite the fact that all human beings are equal, from the same man and woman. (Quran 49:13)
How should we save ourselves from falling into this trap? How should we help others stay above the killing fields of racism and nationalism? What can we do to become a better human being? Here are some tips on how we can launch our personal Jihad against this disease.
The Prophet said: If one of you sees something evil he should change it with his hand. If he cannot, he should speak out against it, and if he cannot do even that he should at least detest it in his heart, this being the weakest form of faith (Sahih of Muslim).

Assalamu Alakum
I pray that everyone is in the best of health and iman.i pray everyone is well.
It has been a while since I have had to post for new and general requests allhumdulillah. the community closet allhumdulillah this is a nice project that has been blessed to go on for several years now.
Unfortunately we are having some problems getting donations for some of the families. I pray you can help inshaallah. with the cost of gas and food some of the families in the community are struggling just to feed their children. this is a very hard situation we are all in and inshaallah if we can share some of the blessings we have received it will lighten the load inshaallah. there are six regular families inshallah I will describe them all are in need of food, clothing and any financial help you may . there are other requests from other people as well inshaallah be able to assist with inshallah.
we have been getting alot of requests for items and we are trying to collect some things again.

BACKGROUND: On behalf of The Information and Resource Development Center in conjunction with the Shams School of Language, based in Temara, Morocco, we are pleased to announce the 2009 Summer Arabic Language Immersion Program. This 5-week program is now open for registration for placement at all levels and will place intense focus on learning the Arabic language, while enjoying the beauty of the Moroccan culture. Classes start on Saturday, June 20, 2009 and run through Saturday, July 25, 2009.
The Shams School of Language is directed by Abdelaziz Hadri, a native Moroccan and a doctoral candidate in the discipline of Linguistics. Insha’Allah, this program promises to offer an opportunity for us to participate in a great effort for the youth, to learn the language of the Qur’an and try to live what is learned. This will be a positive way to spend the summer.
In order to make this trip successful, we need your help. In addition to the administrative cost, We intend to make scholarships available for some of the participants. We first ask Allah to give us success, and we ask you to participate by remembering us in your prayers and helping us with yourself and your wealth. Brothers and sisters, we ask that you act quickly, for several reasons. The program starts in less than three months and passports are needed as well as other pre travel preparation.
