Inheritance That Benefits
As salaamu alaikum wa ramatu Allah wa barakatu beloved sisters,
Bismillah,
And if you would count the graces of Allâh, never could you be able to count them. Truly! Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. An-Nahl 16:18
Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islâmic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter). An-Nahl 16:97
See you not (O men) that Allâh has subjected for you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and has completed and perfected His Graces upon you, (both) apparent (i.e Islâmic Monotheism, and the lawful pleasures of this world, including health, good looks, etc.) and hidden [i.e. One’s Faith in Allâh (of Islâmic Monotheism) knowledge, wisdom, guidance for doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in Paradise, etc.]? Yet of mankind is he who disputes about Allâh without knowledge or guidance or a Book giving light! Luqmân 31:20
Dear Sisters,
Brother ‘Aaidh ibn Abdullah al-Qarni has reminded us, “Islam offers the believer a broad range of benefits and rewards, benefits that encourage him to continue upon the true path and rewards that boost his hopes for the Hereafter. Deeds that wipe out sins—such as prayer—are many in Islam. For example, a good deed is multiplied ten times in rewards, or seven hundred, or even much, much more – Allahu Alim. Another example is hardship, because any time a believer is afflicted with hardship, some of his sins are toned for. (Also, during times of affliction one benefits from the supplications of other believers).”
Have you thanked Allah for your good health…vision…hearing… family and loved ones… your home…Clothing?
If you were to die today, what kind of legacy will you leave? How will your family and friends remember you? Are you passing on your Islamic knowledge as well as striving to the best of your ability to incorporate it into your life? Remember Islam is not a religion, it’s a way of life and we must live it. Our actions is the greatest form of dawah, as the Prophet’s (SAW) character was reflective of the Qur’an! One of the greatest enemies of Islam, a person who plotted to kill Rasullah (saw) became Muslim because he was so touched by the way Rasullah (saw) treated him – with dignity and respect – after he was captured!
Have you ever stepped back and asked yourself how you treat other people and how that affects them emotionally?
Will your legacy be one of love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and forgiveness?
Are you raising emotionally healthy kids who are both independent as well as interdependent? Yes, it still takes a village to raise a child!
Are you helping your spouse, family, and friends grow emotionally, spiritually, intellectually? The people in our life should bring out the best in us and vice versa (regardless of the nature and length of the relationship). Eliminate (or love from a distance those who are toxic, especially the dream killers, to your emotional and spiritual wellbeing).
Are you well rounded? Balanced?
