Assalamu Alakum
I pray that everyone is in the best of health and iman.i pray everyone is well.
It has been a while since I have had to post for new and general requests allhumdulillah. the community closet allhumdulillah this is a nice project that has been blessed to go on for several years now.
Unfortunately we are having some problems getting donations for some of the families. I pray you can help inshaallah. with the cost of gas and food some of the families in the community are struggling just to feed their children. this is a very hard situation we are all in and inshaallah if we can share some of the blessings we have received it will lighten the load inshaallah. there are six regular families inshallah I will describe them all are in need of food, clothing and any financial help you may . there are other requests from other people as well inshaallah be able to assist with inshallah.
we have been getting alot of requests for items and we are trying to collect some things again.

BACKGROUND: On behalf of The Information and Resource Development Center in conjunction with the Shams School of Language, based in Temara, Morocco, we are pleased to announce the 2009 Summer Arabic Language Immersion Program. This 5-week program is now open for registration for placement at all levels and will place intense focus on learning the Arabic language, while enjoying the beauty of the Moroccan culture. Classes start on Saturday, June 20, 2009 and run through Saturday, July 25, 2009.
The Shams School of Language is directed by Abdelaziz Hadri, a native Moroccan and a doctoral candidate in the discipline of Linguistics. Insha’Allah, this program promises to offer an opportunity for us to participate in a great effort for the youth, to learn the language of the Qur’an and try to live what is learned. This will be a positive way to spend the summer.
In order to make this trip successful, we need your help. In addition to the administrative cost, We intend to make scholarships available for some of the participants. We first ask Allah to give us success, and we ask you to participate by remembering us in your prayers and helping us with yourself and your wealth. Brothers and sisters, we ask that you act quickly, for several reasons. The program starts in less than three months and passports are needed as well as other pre travel preparation.

Children’s Nasheed Group
With the help of Allah [subahanahu wa taala (SWT)] the 2nd annual Quran Recitation Competition Awards ceremony was very successful. You can see the happiness in the faces of all kids and their parents.
Now we are embarking on the second step, to establish a professional Nasheed group in Metro Washington form kids whose ages are between 8 and 12 years.
We have a talented sister who authored and put tunes to many songs for children and then trained some kids to sing them. She is willing to take care of training this professional group of kids.
We are very much interested in organizing something like this nasheed group on a regular basis, so that they can help our community to enjoy the fun of good and clean music vs. other types of music.
We are looking now for 10-12 kids.
We need committed group. Training will be once a week in Falls Church in the neighborhood of skyline.
Please let me know if you are interested to have your kids part of this.

Many of us do not take the time to notice and acknowledge how beautiful we are as humans. We may be great lovers of beauty, seeing it in the people, places, and things around us, while completely missing it in ourselves. Some of us feel that it is vain to consider our appearance too much, or we may find that when we look at ourselves, all we see are imperfections. Often we come to the mirror with expectations and preconceived notions about beauty that blind us from seeing ourselves clearly. As a result, we miss the beauty that is closest to us, the beauty we are. Sometimes we see our beauty in a shallow way, noticing how well we are conforming to social norms, but failing to see the deeper beauty that shines out from within and that will continue to shine regardless of how we measure up to society’s ideal. When I wake up in a fantastic mood like I did today I can pretty much expect that someone, somehow will try to steal my joy. My friend Kim calls them Dream Killers and they come in many different forms.
They could be the chick at work who for some reason has decided that she doesn’t like you. You haven’t dated her boyfriend, talked about her Mama, or been rude to her at all, but still, she can’t even look you in the face when she talks to you. When you’re in a team meeting and it’s your turn to speak, you see her face scrunch up as she turns away. She tries to get as many people as she can to join her in her disgust for you. She’s on a mission to come up with reasons why she should dislike you.
I used to be very hurt because I expected to receive the same energy and respect that I put out, but then I realized something very important: she feels threatened.
In some way she has allowed you to make her feel as though she is not up to par. That’s why she criticizes all of your ideas and smirks when you are corrected by your boss. She yearns for the day when you fall on your butt because that is where she is and she wants you to join her in her misery. Don’t fall victim to her plot. Keep it happy! Keep it smiling! Keep it positive! And continue to be nice to her.
Have you ever heard the saying, “Hurting people hurt people”? It’s true. Anytime someone is rude to me, I automatically know it is because they are lacking in some area of their life. People project what they are being fed and if someone has a bad attitude it’s primarily because those close to them are not treating them well and in turn they have lost their love for themselves.
